Federal Government Announces One-Time Payment for People in Receipt of Old Age Security, Guaranteed Income Supplement, as well as Allowance/Allowance for the Survivor for people aged 60-64

On May 12, 2020, the federal government announced that seniors eligible for the Old Age Security (OAS) pension will receive a one-time tax-free payment of $300, with an additional $200 for seniors eligible for the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS). On June 4, 2020, the federal government announced that the money will be distributed during the week of July 6, 2020. In addition, those in receipt of the Allowance and Allowance for the Survivor will receive $500 at that time.
