HALCO Office Location and Accessibility

Address: 55 University Avenue, Suite 1400 (14th Floor), Toronto, Ontario, M5J 2H7. The building is located on the east side of University Avenue, just south of King Street West, and is close to the accessible St. Andrew subway station.

Signs in the building say “HALCO” only (not HIV or AIDS).

Building Entrance:

  • The main entrance features an accessible door with a door opener button located to the right of the revolving doors.

HALCO Office (Suite 1400 on the 14th Floor):

  • Signs indicate “HALCO” (not HIV or AIDS).
  • A door opener button is available in the 14th-floor elevator lobby area.

Elevators:

  • Building elevators are accessible with tactile, lowered buttons.
  • Elevators do not announce floors.

Washrooms:

  • Accessible All-Gender single-stall washroom is located opposite our office on the 14th floor.

Scent-Free Environment:

  • HALCO is a scent-free environment. Please avoid wearing fragrances or scented products when visiting.

Transit Information

  • Subway: The fully accessible St. Andrew subway station is the closest. Directions from the station:
    1. Take the elevator from the subway platform to Level 3.
    2. Exit through the turnstile and turn right.
    3. Follow signs to University Avenue and King Street West.
    4. Go through the double glass doors and take the elevator to street level.
    5. Walk south on University Avenue. The building is on your left.
  • Streetcar: The TTC 504 King streetcar stops near our building.
    • Westbound: Cross King Street and University Avenue at the traffic light; continue south on University Avenue.
    • Eastbound: Walk west on King Street to the intersection, then south on University Avenue.

GO Transit and VIA Rail:

  • Trains arrive at Union Station, which is accessible. From Union Station, you can walk or take the subway to St. Andrew station.

Bicycle Racks:

  • Located on the street in front of 55 University Avenue, behind the north end of the building, and in the underground parking garage on P1 level.

Parking:

Underground Parking Garage:

  • The entrance is on Wellington Street West. Accessible parking is available on Level P1.
  • After parking, use the elevator to the ground floor, then proceed to the lobby and take an elevator to the 14th floor. Note that parking is limited; double parking may be required after 9 a.m.

Street-Level and Nearby Parking:

  • On-street parking is very limited.
  • Roy Thomson Hall: entrances are on the north side of Wellington Street West, west of Simcoe Street (elevator from underground parking). Limited accessible parking with elevator access from Wellington Street West.
  • 145 Wellington Street West: The entrance is on the south side of Wellington Street West, west of University Avenue (elevator from underground parking). Limited accessible parking and underground parking with elevator access.
  • Green P Parking (40 York Street): The entrance is on the east side of York Street, south of Wellington Street West. No accessible parking spots and no elevator.
