Included in this HALCO immigration and travel to Canada update is information about the following:
- Parent/grandparent sponsorship: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will randomly select potential sponsors to apply to sponsor their parents or grandparents. Forms are being accepted online only until 12 pm (EST) on November 3, 2020.
- Expansion of Exemptions to COVID-19 Travel Restrictions for Extended Family Members: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has expanded the travel restriction exemptions for family members of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to include some extended family members.
- Exemption for Travel for Compassionate Reasons: Foreign nationals who wish to travel to Canada for compassionate reasons may apply to the Public Health Agency of Canada for authorization to enter Canada.
