Ontario’s Social Assistance Review

In January 2011, the Government of Ontario began a major review of Social Assistance in Ontario.  More than 830,000 Ontarians receive social assistance benefits through either Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program.  The review, which will finish in June 2012, is intended to help the Ontario government to develop an action plan to improve social assistance in Ontario.  You can find more information on the website of the Commission for the Review of Social Assistance Review in Ontario website:  www.socialassistancereview.ca

The Income Security Advocacy Centre (ISAC) is a specialty legal clinic that has created a website about the Social Assistance Review. You can visit the ISAC Social Assistance Review website:  http://sareview.ca/
